These awards are all covered in the Girls Guide but this page will provide more information and links to resources to help you when working with girls to earn awards.
The Girl Scout Gold Award represents the highest achievement in Girl Scouting. Open only to girls in high school, this prestigious award challenges you to change the world—or at least your corner of it, and be eligible for college scholarships, too. By the time you put the final touches on your seven-step project, you'll have solved a community problem—not only in the short term, but for years into the future. In the 2012-2013 Girl Scout year Frederick County had ?? girls earn their Gold Award.
Frederick is the site of one of the Eight Gold Award Panels. They meet the Second Thursday of the Month at the Frederick Field Office. Gold Award Interviews can be scheduled through the GSCNC website. The Silver Trefoil is a Service based award and the highest award for girls available through GSCNC. The requirements for this award include 100 hours of service split between local, national and global service. A limited number of service hours can be earned as a Cadette with the remainder earned at the Senior and Ambassador levels. In the 2012-2013 Girl Scout year two girls fromFrederick County earned this award.
